Journey to Blowing Rock in the North Carolina High Country - 3 days/2nights - April 22-24, 2025
Join fellow Scene 3 Club members for a trip to the North Carolina Mountains this April. We embark on the trip on Earth Day 2025, an appropriate day to kick off a trip that includes plenty of gorgeous scenery combined with cultural aspects of mountain towns. This trip combines a visit to the lovely town of Blowing Rock along with a variety of "hidden gem" stops during the journey to and from Blowing Rock.
Stops includes Korners Folly aka The Folly in Kernersville. This is the architectural wonder and home of artist and designer Jule Gilmer Körner. Built in 1880, the house originally served to display his interior design portfolio. Visitors can now explore the 22 room house museum and its unique original furnishings and artwork, cast-plaster details, carved woodwork, and elaborate hand laid tile. Close to Blowing Rock, the trip includes stops at the The Mitford Museum and Hart Square Village. Whether or not you have enjoyed the bestselling Mitford Novels, this museum, will have you smiling when you learn the stories about American author, Jan Karon and what inspired the books.
Hart Square Village offers a tour of the largest collection of original, historical log structures in the United States. From corn cribs and barns, to houses and chapels, and even a few outhouses, the Hart Square Village has preserved over ninety original structures. Every cabin is furnished with Appalachian antiques, accurately displaying the various professions and nineteenth century experiences.
Our Blowing Rock experience includes a visit to North Carolina's Oldest Travel attraction, "The Blowing Rock" where we enjoy spectacular views and learn about the legend of "The Rock". We will enjoy a guided tour of The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum which displays and interprets Southern Appalachian Art and Heritage. You will also have plenty of time to explore the town on your own, enjoy the beautiful gardens in the center of town, browse many local shops and galleries or participate in the self guided history tour.
Read more about the trip details and register at the website link provided below. The trip price is $685 per person double occupancy or $765 for a single. You can also register directly with Patty. Send an email to [email protected] or call 404-791-3166.
