May 3 -2pm - Kimblery Akimbo - A new musical about growing up and growing old (in no particular order), KIMBERLY AKIMBO is the winner of 5 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL. It features Tony Award-winning book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire (Shrek), a Tony Award-winning score by Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home), choreography by Danny Mefford (Dear Evan Hansen) and direction by Tony-nominated director Jessica Stone.
Kimberly is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. In this “howlingly funny heartbreaker of a show” (The New Yorker), Kim is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush … and possible felony charges. July 19- 2pm - Les Miserables - In 1987, Les Miserable opened on Broadway. It is the sixth longest running Broadway show of all time, playing 6,690 performances in its original engagement at the Broadway Theater. Don't miss the world's most popular musical when it makes its triumphant return to the Durham Performing Arts Center. Trips by Patty has 40 seats for the 2pm show on July 19. All seats are in the orchestra in Section 2,, Rows O.P, Q and R.
Morning departures will be available from Southport, Leland and Wilmington. We will stop in Raleigh at Crabtree Valley Mall prior to the show where you can enjoy numerous lunch options and time for some quick shopping if desired. The trip cost is $185.
