The cultural feature offers a day at one of America’s most authentic historical attractions, Old Salem. Established in 1766 by the Moravian people, time spent in this restored village offers an immersive experience into how Old Salem was conceived and created. Throughout the day, you can tour historic buildings and interact with costumed interpreters as they demonstrate the trades and decorative crafts of early inhabitants. You can experience ancient liturgy, old hymns and learn about their unique social order. The tastes offered during this trip begin when we arrive in Winston Salem with a narrated historic tour and gift of the famous doughnut, first baked in this town. We also enjoy a wine tasting, dinner and gorgeous scenery in neighboring Pilot Mountain at award-winning JoLo Winery & Vineyards. Meeting the "Rockin Rollers" during a tour of the seventh generation handmade cookie factory, Mrs Hanes Moravian Cookies, is a "taste" highlight.
